Mandarin Oranges
We own three citrus trees. A Meyer Lemon, a tree that produces small orange fruit the size of a large marble, and a Mandarin Orange. About a month ago they all came out of the greenhouse. The change in light caused the Meyer Lemon (that already has a few lemons developing on it) and the Mandarin to bloom. The Meyer has just a few flowers scattered around. The Mandarin is absolutely covered in sweet smelling flowers.
We've only ever gotten one sad orange from this tree, as it hasn't been a great bloomer in the past. I guess it's making up for lost time.
I can't wait to see how many oranges start to develop, and how many we have to remove to keep the tree from breaking.
Citrus trees are a joy!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can make like a bee and help your oranges along.
