I'm still working on the name...though I like a lot of the suggestions. His beak (mouth area) is over grown. This can impact turtles ability to eat. Normally they wear down naturally, but for some reason his hasn't. I got him from a rescue and I'm not sure about his past before that. We worked on it a little this weekend with a dremal tool. You can use a nail file too. It's looking better and in a few weeks I'll evaluate it again and maybe file off some more. He can eat okay, so it isn't an emergency situation and I don't want to stress him out too much.
Cyrano? Mr. Durante? Shelley? Yurtle?
ReplyDeleteCaramel Nut, like the ingredients in the turtle candy.
ReplyDeleteHe is currently living with Cinnamon and Crunch. hmmm.
DeleteThose eyes! That's the steeliest stare I've ever seen on a turtle. Topaz?
ReplyDeleteNot only does he have great eyes, he is also very photogenic and isn't too scared of us.
DeleteTerry Terrapene, Bobbie Box, Shelly... or what about Jeannie!? Name the turtle after me! Why? Because I am getting slower and slower and slower.

So cute! He looks like a Walter to me.
ReplyDeleteYertle the Turtle, of course! I used to have a box turtle as a pet, but he ran away. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteDoes he already have a name? Boxy would me my choice and beak trim? Is that something you have to do?
