The Dark Side of Daylilies
It's no secret to people who know me that I love the really dark colored daylilies. Here are a few from our garden this spring/summer. I hope you like them as much as I do.
'Rolling Raven' |
'Velvet Ribbons' |
'Helix' |
'Wine Light' |
'Copper Chameleon' |
'Velvet Eyes' |
'Salieri' |
'Alien Being' |
'Faith That Moves Mountains' |
I'm with you, I like the dark ones better as well!
ReplyDeleteThose dark spiders are fabulous. I have a few dark ones and love the drama of them. Is that your show winner in the last photo? Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI entered 'Faith that Move's Mountains' in the show, but it just received a purple ribbon. It was hybridized by Carol Emmerich at Springwood Gardens.
DeleteI love the dark colored daylilies too. 'Spanish Harlem' is my favorite among my small collection but I think I should add some with the wonderful petal structure you've got in many of yours.
ReplyDeleteI love Spider and Unusual Form daylilies. At some point I'll have to update the list I have on the blog, but I would guess that more than half of our plants fall into that category.
