Photo Friday: Baking in a Heat Wave

  1. Too funny (from here where it's currently 50 degrees.) A great way to have fresh cookies without firing up the oven.

    1. Our high yesterday was 108 degrees. It had to be done...for science.

  2. This is great! Maybe I need to whip up some cookie dough too - we're expected another heatwave early next week (albeit not a nuclear event such as the one 2 weeks ago that delivered a temperature of 110F for several hours).

    1. We were at 108 on cookie day! Got to say, while they did cook and they tasted pretty good fresh out of the car (a few coworkers and their kids varrified), they weren't very good when they cooled. Defiantly some quality issues.

  3. When I lived in places that got "that hot" (Wichita, Kansas; Wichita Falls, Texas) I never tried anything like that. I hope your heat wave breaks soon.

  4. It been so hot here in North Idaho and honestly want to do up a pie. But I don't dare fire up the oven.

    1. While the cookies sort of tuned out, I don't think car baking is refined enough for a pie. You probably should to wait for it to cool off.

  5. I hate summer! (Love cookies, though!)

  6. Oh, I bet the car smelled awesome when you opened the door! Baking cookies for science, ha! One excuse is as good as another.

  7. Not as much as you would think. I was shocked at the lack of smell. It didn't smell bad, just not that awesome cookie smell.
