Naples Botanical Garden

While we were in Florida this winter we spent time at Naples Botanical Garden.  It was a really hot day so we didn't spend as much time as we normally would wandering around.

Overall it was really beautiful.  It was really neat to see all the bromiliads as bedding plants throughout the entire garden.  They relied heavily on them through out the entire garden.  It would be interesting to see what their color display looked like at other points during the year and if it was always so heavily focused on one bedding plant.

They also had a dinosaur exhibit going on, there were a variety of colorful dinosaurs scattered throughout the garden that moved, and in one case spit water.  This was probably one of the highlights of the garden if you asked my toddler.

She loved all of the different water features and the children's garden.  They had a butterfly area that had a rack of chrysalises.  Due to the heat there weren't too many flying around.  Can't say I blamed them, I would have tried to stay hidden in the shade too.

It was a beautiful place (and I didn't even get any pictures of the "swap-like" entrance with all of the fabulous plants there, nor any of the children's area.

We plan on visiting again the next time we are in the area.  Fingers crossed it won't be a record breaking temperature kind of day.
