Some of This Year's Seedlings

  1. Very pretty! Have you picked names for them yet, or does that have to wait until you see if they can replicate themselves true from seed?

    1. Some of these have already ended up in the compost pile because while they are pretty, they aren't different enough to register. Currently there are over 80,000 named cultivars of daylilies. Eight of these will be transplanted when they stop blooming and will Be grown for another year. Eventually if they make the cut, we will register them and give them names. Interestingly, no daylilies come true from seeds. They are all divisions.

  2. Nice. Are these named varieties? Or are they experiments? Will you keep them all? Our daylilies haven't started blooming yet.

    1. These are all experiments. Some we have kept, and some we have composted. So far none of our experiments have been hideous.
